Some of my earlier work, Feremusu’s story was a fun challenge to tell because of the powerful story and lack of footage. Heartbeats of Salone wanted to show their donors a vivid idea of the challenges orphans in Sierra Leon face before they arrive at the children’s home, MamaLand, Children’s Village. We were able to get a voiceover from Feremusu and her house mother Dorcas, and with some simple animation visuals and supplementary footage of the girls, we pieced together the story of Feremusu’s redemption and now hope.

The video is now a recurring part of Heartbeats of Salone’s donor communication.
